The Hourglass is a Grade 2 listed building of special architectural and historic interest. It was built in the 1400’s before the fall of Constantinople as a Medieval cruck framed open hall. During the renaissance it adopted a ‘lobby entrance’ layout and a central chimney with an inglenook and an upstairs. In the last century The Hourglass has been multiple Inns and Taverns, more recently a bar and a Michelin star restaurant.
